Shame, Shame

You know who you are.

Yeah, okay, it’s me.

So, it turns out there this thing called “life off of the computer” – take a deep breath, you’ll adjust to the idea in a minute – and lately it’s been very distracting. Some of it has been amazingly good, other things kind of horrible, and a lot of neutral things that annoy me just because I could have been doing something more productive, but on the whole it’s been life.

The biggest impact has been a noticeable decrease in word count. That MAY also have something to do with the sheer number of Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes I’ve been watching, but I’m choosing to say the two are unrelated.Β I now have a whole weekend stretched out in front of me that I will dedicate to nothing but more episodes of Buffy finishing my latest project! I’ve been saying it for weeks, but at this point I’m so close to the end of draft 1 that if I don’t finish this weekend, I will hang my head in shame and deprive myself of chocolate for a week.

If IΒ do finish draft 1, next week you can look forward to my goings on about the joys of editing again. Hurray!

So in sum: Life happens, Buffy is good, writing will get done.

I miss you all and I can’t wait to get back here more often!

  1. We miss you too. πŸ™‚ Is, “Break a pen,” the right way to wish a fellow writer good luck? If you’re struggling, just write some Buffy flash and you’ll have all the mental tools you need when you put on her character…

    1. I’ll accept “break a pen” πŸ™‚ Just not “break a computer”. I think that would be bad. And I did write some Buffy fanfiction back in the day. It was fun πŸ™‚

  2. Life’s full of these sinewaves. They tend not to get better until you hit the bottom of the sine wave. The trick is to try to make the wave overall a little higher up every time towards the “good” end of the spectrum.

Don’t know the trick yet. πŸ˜›
