Greylands, Part 5: Reaction video

I have to say, I’m really excited about this submission. I’ve mentioned before that I’m open to any form of medium to build up the Greylands culture and C.J. Duarte really did step up to offer this piece. On top of the unofficial book cover that can be found on the main “Project: Greylands” page, Duarte has also taken the time to come up with this pretty awesome….movie trailer?

  1. Very effective for a ‘home-brew’ – I thought it captured the spirit and mood of the stories very well.

I may have forgotten something about the Greylands mythos which answers my one question, but I wondered why a father’s final recording to his daughter would be in a computerised voice?

    1. “…why a father’s final recording to his daughter would be in a computerised voice?”

The robotic sound was not originally intended on my part, although the more I heard it, the more effective and eerie I thought it could be.

Perhaps the quality of his recording eroded over time due to storage conditions, making it sound very uneven upon its discovery. At any rate, I really appreciate the feedback from you all. This was a lot of fun to do.

  2. Zow! Gave me chills — which given that it was 102 in my truck when I left work, makes me want to keep watching it.

I don’t mind the robotic voice. Could also be that whatever they found to play it back on wasn’t the right equipment. At first I thought it was a bit odd, but have to agree, it made it much more eerie.
